Your new go to sweet snack! Almond Joys have always been one of my fave candies… Here’s a healthy way to recreate that delicious chocolate coconuty almond treat, sans all that refined sugar. Medjool dates are the main ingredient here, serving as a natural sweetener with the perfect chewy texture! These are super EASY, require minimal ingredients, and actually taste better than the OG!
Ingredients
Pitted medjool dates
Almond butter
Melted dk chocolate
Unsweetened Coconut flakes
Method
Open up the dates and add some almond butter inside where the pit was.
Sprinkle with some coconut flakes.
Melt dark chocolate and drizzle over the stuffed dates.
Then sprinkle some more coconut flakes.
Put in the freezer for 30 minutes.
Store in the fridge!
Dates are basically nature’s candy! I’ve been making stuffed dates as a dessert for a while and this is by far my fave combo. If you’re new to dates, don’t be intimidated… this is the perfect intro bc honestly they’re amazing!
I used TJ’s cacao chips, they are 100% cacao, not sweetness added. I wouldn’t use these in every recipe, but they work well here bc the dates are so sweet, you really don’t need anymore sweetness. But use whatever dark chocolate you like! And if you’re not up for melting the chocolate, just stick some choc chips inside instead…. they’ll be just as good!
